Melissa is a mental health professional who has worked in healthcare since 2011, with the past five years serving as a medical social worker at Nebraska Medicine. In this role, she works closely with survivors of violent injuries, supporting them throughout the full recovery process, including medical care, emotional healing, and connection to essential community resources.
She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2021 and is a proud alum of Central High School. Melissa has extensive experience working with individuals navigating PTSD, complex PTSD (C-PTSD), anxiety, depression, and substance use. Her work is grounded in a trauma-informed approach, allowing her to meet clients with sensitivity, understanding, and respect for their lived experiences.
Melissa understands that many people enter therapy expecting it to feel cold, clinical, or judgmental. She intentionally challenges that expectation by bringing her full, authentic self into the therapeutic space. She believes that therapy is rooted in genuine human connection and that the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful tool for healing.
She strives to be a stable, consistent, and nonjudgmental presence for her clients, creating an environment where they feel safe to show up honestly and fully. Melissa’s goal is for clients to feel understood, supported, and less alone, empowering them to engage in meaningful work and create lasting, sustainable change.
Guided by the belief that growth often comes through life’s most difficult seasons, Melissa helps clients find strength and clarity through their experiences.
