Laurie is a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner who holds a Master’s degree in Health and Human Services from Bellevue University. She brings over 11 years of experience working at A Better Way Therapy, where she supported clients navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, and family conflict. Earlier in her career, Laurie worked at Behaven Day Center, providing care for children ages three to twelve experiencing severe and chronic behavioral challenges.
Laurie understands that beginning therapy can sometimes feel intimidating, and that many individuals may view it as a sign of weakness. She believes the opposite is true that seeking support is a sign of strength, self-awareness, and a willingness to grow. With the right support, clients can move forward with greater clarity rather than feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns.
She takes an individualized approach to therapy, recognizing that each client has unique needs, goals, and experiences. Laurie works collaboratively with clients to identify realistic, achievable steps toward growth while building practical skills to support lasting change.
Laurie is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their challenges. She helps individuals recognize their strengths, build confidence in their abilities, and develop the tools needed to overcome obstacles and move forward in their lives.
