Joyce Blakey
Mental Health Therapist
M.S., PLMHP, PLADC
What problem do you strive to overcome?
Some clients come to therapy feeling discouraged because past experiences did not lead to the success they hoped for, often due to barriers that made it difficult to fully engage in the process. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are, to validate who you are today, and to support where you would like to be in the future.
By using approaches such as reality therapy, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based methods, I help you move toward lasting change. I strive to be the advocate and voice you may not have always had, while building a strong and supportive therapeutic relationship that encourages you to achieve your goals.
“This too shall pass” is a quote that has encouraged me throughout life, reminding me that even the hardest moments are temporary. Outside of therapy, music is one of my greatest coping skills. I used to sing in the A cappella choir at Central High School, and I still love to sing today. I am also a certified yoga teacher and enjoy sharing mindfulness and meditation practices with others as ways to bring balance and peace into daily life.
